The dedication of the first and only Amherst monument to the Revolutionary War took place Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, in the Old Burial Grounds near the Town Hall. The celebration featured the Honor Guard of the Harley Sanford VFW Post 4368 posting colors and a short dedication ceremony. This celebration was provided by financial support and generosity from the following organizations: Harley Sanford VFW Post 4366, the VFW Post Auxiliary, the Villagers Chapter of Questers, the Amherst Heritage Commission, the Capt. Josiah Crosby Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and from private citizens.
